CARES Act Funds - Free Breakfast/Lunch for ALL Yutan Students

Yutan Public Schools is approved through the CARES Act to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled Yutan students. Beginning on September 11, 2020 all PK-12 grade students (including off-site learners) who eat a school breakfast and/or lunch will not be charged. Any money currently in a student’s personal lunch account will remain, as this program is set to expire when the CARES Act funds run out, or December 31, 2020, which ever comes first.

Students will still be charged for any additional (ala carte) items outside the standard reimbursable breakfast or lunch. If students bring their lunch from home and wish to buy a milk, juice, or other ala carte items- the school is required to charge for these items.  Any elementary milk breaks will still be charged.

The CARES Act only allows for free student breakfast/lunch and does not apply to adult meals.

Yutan is excited to offer this to families during these uncertain times. If you have questions, please feel free to contact your child’s school office.
