Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities (ILCD)

All districts in Nebraska are required to participate in the special education continuous improvement process called “Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities” (ILCD). Similar to other school improvement processes, this is a 5-year cycle with the main objective of identifying the district’s strengths as well as any areas in need of further development regarding provisions of special education services. Input is gathered from parents, teachers, and service providers regarding the quality of services provided by Yutan PS for students with verified disabilities. Areas assessed include Improving Developmental Outcomes and Academic Achievement (School Readiness) for Children with Disabilities (Impact Area 1), Improving Communication and Relationships Among Families, Schools, Communities and Agencies (Impact Area 2), and Improving Transitions for Children with Disabilities from Early Intervention to Adult Living (Impact Area 3). Results of the parent surveys account for one part of the total data reviewed, and will continue to assist the district in assessing the quality of services in identifying areas for development.
