I graduated from Gretna High School and attended UNK.  At UNK I majored in education and was on the football team.  While at UNK I began to volunteer as a coach at various high schools and found that I loved being able to impact students lives in that role.  While attending college I met my wife Amy (who is now the school nurse at Yutan) and we were married during her senior year.  We have five children, Heidi, Zach, Drew, Kylie, and Henry.

After college we moved back to the Omaha area and I began a construction business.  For the next ten years I did nearly everything in the construction field.  We built houses, strip malls, many of the buildings at Vala's Pumpkin patch, remodels, additions, and decks.  Also, during this time, I began to build reclaimed wood furniture, which turned from a hobby into a part time business.

I decided to transition out of the construction business full time a few years ago and this year I was hired as the CTE instructor at Yutan.  My goals for the CTE program at Yutan include-

  • Teaching all students how to use both the wood shop and metal shop safely and efficiently.
  • Instructing students on the basic drafting and design software that is industry standard.
  • Helping the students to become career ready by giving them practical skills needed in today's workforce.

Along with teaching, I am also the head football coach and co-head wrestling coach.  This will be my 4th year coaching at Yutan.  As a coach I enjoy teaching students the values and work ethics that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

If you have any questions or would just like to stop in the shop to see what we are working on please contact me via email and I would be glad to accommodate you!
