Began teaching at Yutan during 1991-1992 school year - this is my 28th year at YHS. Graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Nebraska, and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Previously taught at Victoria Unified School District in Victoria, Kan., from 1984-1986 and was managing editor at the Wahoo Newspaper from 1986-1991. Family: wife Cindy (married in 1984), son Brandon, wife Nikki, and their daughter Chloe and son Henry, daughter Amber, dog Rocky. Hobbies:  golf, sports writing.

Timm, Kult Qualify for 2018 State Cross Country Meet
Sophomore Brady Timm and freshman Isaac Kult qualified for the 2018 state cross country meet.  For Timm, it was his second state-meet appearance.
Yutan Girls Compile 4th-Most Wins in Program History

The 2018-2019 Yutan girls reached the district champion-ship game, only to lose to Lourdes 34-28.  The 20-5 season record included the fourth-most wins in the program's 42-year history. Seniors: Lynn Smith, McKinley Josoff, Taylor Arensberg, Olivia Crews

NHSPA Highest
Award

Yutan's 2016-2017 newspaper, The Chieftain Times, earned a Cornhusker Award, which is the highest honor given by the Nebraska High School Press Association. The Chieftain yearbook earned a Superior rating. 

State Journalism

Yutan won 41 medals to easily capture the 2019 Class C State Journalism Championship, marking the 11th time since 2006 that Yutan has finished first or second at state. Haley Herman becomes most-decorated journalist ever at Yutan.
